‘Summer Lovin’ happened too fast: Where’s the sun?

If you didn’t know, this sign will certainly remind you our feathered friends rule our road.

It was raining fuchsias this weekend in our backyard. Can’t wait for the sun to be back.

Good morning Longbranch.

“Summer Lovin” went by too fast, if you ask me. That glorious week of sunshine and blue skies was a blast, though.

Although the rain has not yet fallen, the weather geeks forecast a 50 percent chance of it today. It is currently 53 degrees and our high will be a chilly 59. The winds blew in clouds overnight and we’ll certainly have cloud cover for the rest of the day.

I did get the opportunity to plant two blueberry bushes in my backyard yesterday and would be happy to see a little rain the next two days. The ducks next door seem unconcerned about the weather, waddling on in to the pond with a couple of ducklings added to the brood.

To bring my spirits up a bit, I give you a couple of musical milestones for today in history.

Today in 1978, the musical film “Grease” opens starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John to kickoff that year’s summer fun.

“Summer sun, something’s begun, but uh-oh those summer nights,” Travola and Newton-John croon.

Also today in 1983, “Always Something There To Remind Me” by Naked Eyes peaks at No. 8 on the pop charts.

Have a great day y’all.
