Waterlogged souls rejoice, sun in the forecast

Light from the setting sun stains the snowcapped summit of Mount Rainier.

Sunshine is finally in the forecast after days of gray and gloom along Drayton Passage.

The forecast for today through Tuesday is early fog then sunny later in the day, according to the National Weather Service.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the way fog rolls across our bank — the way the mist blankets Longbranch meadows and farms.

But the coming of the sun is good for waterlogged souls.

“Finally, we might see the mountain top,” my Lovely Bride said as we walk out the door.

By the time we came home from our lunch date in El Sombrero at Key Center, the clouds were thinning and the base of Mount Rainier began a slow reveal.

At sundown we watched an incredible — but brief — show of colors.

“It is gorgeous,” my Lovely Bride said.
