‘Royale With Cheese’ Silver Screen throwback, Autumn Blues in Longbranch

Fall is definitely here, heralded by the leaden sky and damp air.

Fall is here.

“Pretty soon we will be driving to work in the dark,” says my lovely bride, as she looks out to a dark Drayton’s Passage.

Sure we are.

It doesn’t help that she is headed back to work after a Monday holiday.

The air was damp and the dew clingy when the goofy goldendoodle and I were out on our walk earlier today.

It is currently 55 degrees and the high is not expected to top 60 again, according the weather geeks. Rain will surely sprinkle throughout the day and through the weekend.

ROYALE WITH CHEESE

Twenty years ago today, one of my favorite movies “Pulp Fiction” debuted on the big screen. The crime drama, directed by Quentin Tarantino, featured multiple storylines and clever dialogue. The movie boasted an ensemble cast that included Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis and John Travolta. It is credited for reviving Travolta’s movie career.

“Some critics have called ‘Pulp Fiction’ the most influential movie of its time,” according to history.com.

I leave you with one of the memorable witty exchanges from the movie:

Vincent: And you know what they call a… a… a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?
Jules: They don’t call it a Quarter Pounder with cheese?
Vincent: No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn’t know what the f*** a Quarter Pounder is.
Jules: Then what do they call it?
Vincent: They call it a Royale with cheese.
Jules: A Royale with cheese. What do they call a Big Mac?
Vincent: Well, a Big Mac’s a Big Mac, but they call it le Big-Mac.
Jules: Le Big-Mac. Ha ha ha ha. What do they call a Whopper?
Vincent: I dunno, I didn’t go into Burger King.
