Thunder Clouds Roll Through Longbranch

Thunder clouds rolling through Drayton’s Passage early this morning — bringing with it a brief deluge and the scent of fresh rain.

It is never boring on the southern tip of the Key Peninsula.

Our eagles were squawking as thunder clouds began rolling over Drayton’s Passage. A brief deluge followed shortly, leaving the scent of fresh rain.

Then sunshine.

Lots of it.

For the rest of the day, say the weather geeks.

Our high today will once again be in the high 80s with chances for rain diminishing as we head deeper into the weekend.

This weather pattern has been wreaking havoc on the wildfire situation in eastern Washington, said Cliff Mass on his blog. Lightning that accompanied the thunderstorms could potential spark new problems for the firefighters.

Today, my lovely bride and I begin a two-week staycation in our little piece of paradise.

Good morning Longbranch.
