It will be hot today.
Not Texas summer hot.
But hot. As in 93 degrees by early this afternoon, say the weather geeks.
My lovely bride’s cousin Greg and his wife Tina were in town this weekend. They are from west Texas.
I had bragged about our summers and our magnificent sunrises since they arrived on the Key Peninsula. So, I roused them out of bed this morning at first light. Poor things.
“I’ve been sitting out here alone and listening to all the critters,” Greg said from one of the chairs on our bank. “Look how flat the water is.”
Then the sun began its ascent over McNeil Island.
“I’m glad we got to see that,” Tina finally said.
So are we.
Good morning Longbranch.
