Update: As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, the Tacoma Narrows Airport is reporting the temperature at 90 degrees, breaking last year’s record by one degree.
For the first time this year I sat on our deck to enjoy my day’s first cup of coffee — bathing in the morning sunlight and lost in thought.
The birds were deafening, between the screeching red-winged blackbirds and the squeaks hummingbirds make with their wings. The goofy golden doodle laying by my feet. Content. Happy, I hope.
I know my lovely bride was looking forward to today.
“Bring on the heat,” she said.
The hills along “A” Street beware. A pair of well-worn Asics running shoes are about to mercilessly pound your pavement.
The weather geeks say our high today just might break last year’s record of 89 degrees. The Portland office of the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory, according to weather super geek Cliff Mass.
Nothing yet from the Seattle office.
This morning The News Tribune reports the weather service saying it will be warm for one day, then temperatures will drop back down to the 70s.
Well, stay cool Longbranch and have a great morning.
