Sunny on the Spit in Purdy

I know summer is here when my lovely bride calls me to ask if I would like to meet her in Purdy.

Of course I would.

So there we were yesterday afternoon drenched in sunshine on the deck of Massimo’s Italian Grill with a commanding view of Henderson Bay and the Burley Lagoon.

We watched a paddler on a board glide up the bay. Two boys on a swing under the Purdy Bridge, clearly enjoying the warm respite from our gloomy June. Families just walking along the water’s edge on the sand spit. A gaggle of goslings and their mother foraging for food along the mossy bank.

It was a good evening.

The weather geeks say we’ll have more of the same today, partly sunny with a slight chance of showers. But the forecast for the weekend is glorious sunshine.

Good morning Longbranch.
