Crimson Sky Over Longbranch A Brief Winter Interlude

A duck waddles on ice on our neighbor’s frozen pond Sunday afternoon.

The depth of winter’s darkness saw a crimson intermission yesterday morning as the sun rose in spectacular fashion. I just happen to catch the sight at the Longbranch Marina on my way to work. I caught a few other souls stopping to snap a few frames of the magnificent sight. I have to say it was well worth the stop.

Our days are warming up with today’s high pegged at 45 degrees, according to the weather geeks. We are finally feeling the thaw as we look forward to the lengthening of our days, beginning on Dec. 21.
