Good morning Longbranch.
It is drizzly but a balmy 50 degrees on Drayton’s Passage this morning. The weather geeks are saying our high today will reach 64 degrees. So, don’t look for the sun today. You may not find it.
But the eternal optimist in me says the sky may open up just in time for the Key Peninsula Veterans Association’s Memorial Day event in Vaughn Bay. The event starts at 1 p.m. and according to Nate Welsh “we will raise 325 casket-sized flags and 395 names of fallen soldiers dating back to the Revolutionary War will be read.”
Welsh said the reading of the names will be done by 7 individuals, and a bell will toll after each reader finishes.
