Daffodil blooms dot the side of the Key Peninsula Highway at several spots. These lovely flowers are by the intersection of 97th Avenue and the Key Peninsula Highway.

Good news my fellow commuters. Gas prices have gone down by 5 cents a gallon the last month. Here are todays prices along the Key Peninsula Highway: Home Shell station, $3.85 a gallon; 134th Street Shell, $3.79 a gallon; Wauna 76 station, $3.75 a gallon; Wauna Chevron, $3.75 a gallon.

In Tacoma, last week’s average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline was $3.79. The national average per gallon was $3.65. A month ago in Tacoma it was $3.85 a gallon and the national average was $3.72.

If you went back a year, prices have definitely slid. Tacoma’s average price per gallon a year ago today was $4.12 and the national average was $3.89.
